The Candidate
High levels of professionalism and confidence in managing an independent caseload are required. Candidates must demonstrate:
- Duty Solicitor Status.
- Police Station Accreditation Status.
- Attention to detail in reviewing and preparing documentation.
- Proficiency in IT and Case Management software.
- Effective time management skills.
- Adherence to high standards of client care and interpersonal communication.
The Role
Covering all aspects of criminal law, including legally aided and privately funded work, responsibilities include:
- Conducting interviews and taking instructions on criminal allegations.
- Performing legal research and advising on points of law and practice.
- Attending the Police Station to provide advice and assistance.
- Representing clients in the Magistrates' Court.
- Managing Crown Court litigation and instructing Counsel.
- Drafting letters and legal documents.
- Performing necessary administrative duties.
