Dissemination of Terrorist Publications

Understand Your Situation

Sharing a video or a PDF can lead to prison. We analyse the content and your intent to build a defence.

Defending Dissemination Charges

It is an offence to distribute a publication that encourages terrorism or is useful to a terrorist. This includes sharing videos on WhatsApp or Telegram. Possession of such material (Section 58) is also a crime.

We examine the material. Is it actually a 'terrorist publication'? Or is it news footage? We rely on the 'Reasonable Excuse' defence. If you possess the material for academic research, journalism, or curiosity without terrorist intent, you are not guilty. We prove your legitimate reason for having the files.

Possession of Manuals?

Researching for a project? We prove your reasonable excuse.

Plan Your Defence

Section 58 Possession

Possessing information 'likely to be useful to a terrorist' (e.g., a manual) is strict.

However, we argue that the information is widely available (e.g., on Amazon) or common knowledge, reducing its 'utility' to a terrorist. We fight to prove you are not a threat.

Shared a Video?

Sharing news isn't a crime. We defend your intent.

Legal Aid Availability

For many criminal matters, from police station interviews to Crown Court trials, public funding (Legal Aid) may be available to cover your legal costs.

Eligibility is determined by the seriousness of the case and, in some instances, a means assessment. Our team will conduct an immediate, confidential assessment of your eligibility to ensure that financial constraints do not stand in the way of a robust defence.
